Chapter: 4124
"Yeah, she actually likes me very much for that," Marcus said with a wide smile.
But Waylen waved him off dismissively.
Though Marcus could be garrulous and a bit troublesome, he was actually a nice man. After they had all gotten into the car, Mark reasoned that it would be too much trouble for Marcus to swing by and give them a ride home. But Marcus, who had already fastened his seat belt, said with a smile, "Edwin is busy and Laura is taking care of the child. They called and asked me to drive you all the way home."
Mark was glad to hear this, but then, he remembered Alexis' marriage.
After a moment's silence, he suddenly blurted out, "Leonel shouldn't have cheated on Alexis."
But Marcus made no comment. He simply started the car and drove out of the villa.
When they had gone out of the compound, Marcus saw that Leonel was still there at the gate, leaning against his car and smoking non-stop.
Marcus didn't want to give him any attention, but Cecilia instructed him to stop the car.
Marcus did as she asked and pulled over.
Cecilia then got down from the vehicle by herself.
The moon was shining brightly in the sky, illuminating the entire area. When Leonel saw Cecilia coming towards him, he immediately put out his cigarette and stood straight. "Good evening, Aunt Cecilia," he greeted respectfully.
Ever since she got married, Cecilia had been living in another city.
But many years ago, after Waylen adopted Leonel, Cecilia often helped take care of the children. Back then, Leonel used to call her aunt just like the other Fowler kids. And he really did see her as his aunt.
Both of them seemed sad to see each other now.
Leonel thought Cecilia would scold or even slap him. If she did that, he would certainly bear it. But to his surprise, she just stared at him quietly for a long time before saying calmly, "You need to go back home. There's no way you and Alexis can be together anymore."
"A... Aunt Cecilia..." Leonel stuttered, his lips trembling.
Cecilia didn't want to say anything more, but she just couldn't help it. "You grew up together," she remarked. "You know her better than anyone. You should have thought of what would happen when you cheated on her. Leonel, just take good care of yourself in the future."
With that, she turned and went back to the car.
But Leonel remained where he was.
Apart from the sarcastic remarks by Marcus, no one really blamed him.
