Chapter: 4126
At this point, Evelyn and Daniel had both come downstairs.
They dragged their feet, acting very reluctant.
It was at this point that Leonel realized that he hadn't been close to the kids for almost half a year. No wonder they were estranged from him.
Evelyn was the first to come. She was holding Ollie by a leash. When she saw her father, she blinked wordlessly.
Leonel squatted down and touched her head affectionately. "Seems you're not happy to see me, hmm?" he asked.
Immediately, Ollie barked.
Evelyn lowered her head and said with an air of resignation, "I'm happy."
Leonel then turned to Daniel, who had just arrived, and touched his head gently. But Daniel didn't show much respect to him, nor did he pretend to be happy to see him. Instead, he turned his frowning face away. It was obvious that he was angry with Leonel.
While all these were going on, Waylen was seated on the sofa, pretending to read his book.
"I'll bring them back before dinner time," Leonel promised him.
Waylen nodded and said, “Take the gifts with you. You didn't have to go through so much expense."
The smile on Leonel's face vanished when he heard this. Nonetheless, he quietly took the gifts back to the car and put them into the trunk. After the children had taken their seats in the car, he fastened his seatbelt and asked them, "Where do you want us to go catch some fun?"
"I want to go home," Evelyn said in a low voice, with Ollie in her arms.
This made Leonel's heart ache.
It took a while before he said in response, “Okay, I'll take you back and cook Italian food for you."
When they got to the villa, the children were still not in high spirits.
Despite the fact that the Italian food Leonel made was exquisite and delicious, they only had just a little.
Later in the afternoon, Evelyn said that she wanted to eat donuts, so Leonel drove out to buy some for her.
After eating the donuts, Evelyn finally felt a Little happy.
Leonel also turned on Daniel's favorite cartoon on the TV. As a result, the atmosphere improved a little. But all of a sudden, Leonel's phone began to ring. It was a call from the Fowler mansion.
