Chapter: 4127
When he answered the phone, he discovered that it was the butler of the Fowlers that was calling to remind him that the kids should be back by now because dinner in the mansion would be ready in half an hour.
Leonel ended the call and looked at Evelyn and Daniel.
"Dad, won't you come and eat with us?" Evelyn asked with the donut in her hand.
"I can't go," Leonel said sadly and patted her on the head.
Evelyn pursed her lips and frowned. But it was Daniel who spoke up.
“Will you and Mommy remain separated forever?" he asked curiously.
For a moment, Leonel's heart seemed to have been hit by an electric current. But he kept quiet and didn't say anything in response.
When it was time to take them back, Leonel put the kids in the back seat, each of them holding a bag of donuts.
It didn't take long before they arrived at the Fowler mansion.
Leonel didn't come down from the car immediately. Instead, he turned to his children and said, "I'll come pick you up again next weekend."
Evelyn didn't say a word. It was Daniel who spoke. "When it's Christmas time, Mommy will take Evelyn and I abroad, and Ollie too. Maybe we will stay there for a few years, or maybe we'll never come back."
Leonel's heart trembled when he heard this. "Take you abroad?" he asked in disbelief.
But Daniel frowned and refused to say anything more. Instead, he opened the door and jumped down from the car.
Evelyn quickly followed.
Leonel also got down from the car, but he couldn't stop the children in time.
It was almost dusk already. As he stood there alone, he felt surrounded by the autumn chill.
At this point, the gate of the villa was slowly opened and a white car drove in, but it wasn't the Fowler family's car.
The car rolled to a stop and the door was opened. This was when Leonel saw that it was Timmy.
Timmy, on his part, nodded at Leonel and opened the trunk of his car to bring out a bouquet and a bottle of wine. With these gifts, he walked into the villa. By now, the domestic staff were serving dinner.
When they saw Timmy, they greeted him with a smile. "Dr. Hawks, let me help you with these," one of them offered. "I'm sure Mr. Fowler will like them very much when he sees them. This is his favorite brand of red wine."
