Chapter: 4130
However, Alexis had no interest in his excuses.
She turned away, her hand on the doorknob, and muttered, “Save your stories for someone else. They sicken me!"
Yet, Leonel couldn't bear to see her leave.
He caught her wrist and urged in a soft plea, “Please, don't move abroad."
Alexis remained silent and coldly pulled her hand away.
The following morning, the Fowler family gathered at the breakfast table.
Waylen, as usual, had his black coffee and two slices of toast. Rena, pouring him a glass of milk, suggested gently, “Drinking so much coffee could upset your stomach. Maybe try some milk instead?"
Waylen dismissed her concern, sticking with his coffee.

Rena looked puzzled. "Rats, here? Why haven't the servants mentioned this?"
Waylen scoffed. "It's true. And these rats are no small thing!"
Alexis quietly ate her breakfast. When she heard Waylen's words, she set her cup down and announced, “I'm full. I'll take Evelyn and Daniel to school."
Waylen quickly responded, "No need for that. Your mom and I will take the kids to school. You don't have to handle everything alone. We're a family, aren't we?"
Alexis gave a small smile at his words.
Evelyn, hearing this, sat up straight and quickly finished her meal.
Waylen watched her eat and memories of Alexis as a young girl filled his thoughts. His heart warmed with nostalgia, and he gently patted Evelyn on the head.
The little girl bore a striking resemblance to Alexis.
In the days that followed, everything proceeded smoothly. Leonel seemed to come to terms with Alexis taking the kids abroad. He didn't comment further, simply picking up Evelyn and Daniel and spending the weekend with them.
Despite their initial hesitance, the children didn't show any resistance like before.
On one Friday afternoon.
