Chapter: 4198
"I'll never allow you to be sad again, I promise," he vowed, trying to coax her as if she was a Little girl.

In response, Jessie wrapped her slender arms around his neck. Perhaps for the first time in six months, she finally felt relieved.

Albert was a very passionate individual.

He was someone who loved to play and try new things in the bedroom, but at this moment, he just wanted to treat Jessie in the most traditional and formal manner. Picking her up, he carried her gently to the bed and lay down beside her. He closely watched every change of her expression and tried to make her comfortable and feel loved.

After a while, he whispered in her ear, “Jessie, please let's get married."

Jessie's body trembled when she heard this.

It took a long time before she finally recovered herself and opened her misty eyes. She looked at the man whom she had loved and hated for many years, and tears fell again from her eyes.

Albert was very patient and understanding.

He wiped the tears off her eyes and vowed fervently, "I won't act like a jerk ever again in the future. I'll love you with all my heart and treat you right."

Jessie's lips trembled and she couldn't say anything in response.

Nevertheless, Albert went on, “If I ever mistreat you, you can take all our belongings and leave with Jeslyn, leaving me sad and broke.”

Jessie sobbed when she heard this.

She didn't say a word, but he knew how she felt. He couldn't help but intertwine his fingers with hers. Then he leaned down and kissed her.

The night was still young. Hence, they had all the time in the world to remain intertwined.

After Christmas, Albert whisked Jessie away for a little adventure.

He brought Lettie over to look after Jeslyn.

At first, Lettie hesitated, but Jeslyn's sweet call of "grandma" melted her heart. Being older and alone, she didn't push Jeslyn away as before.

Jeslyn knew how to bring joy to Lettie.

Jeslyn didn't vie for attention with Jessie. She knew that when her dad was happy, she'd have a mom and their family felt complete.

By New Year's Day, after Albert and Jessie returned from their trip, they all pitched in to unpack.
