Chapter: 4204
Because Alexis didn't even look at her. The things the female PR manager cared about, the man she wanted so badly, meant nothing to Alexis.

She stood frozen, watching Alexis depart.

Just then, Noreen returned, holding Leonel's results. "Mr. Douglas, the doctor suggests you stay put for two days and get some rest."

Leonel glanced at the report. In a monotone voice, he requested, "Just hook me up with two IVs."

Noreen wanted to speak, but then thought better of it.

Leonel could sense his secretary's worry, so he responded calmly, "I'm good; don't stress."

Noreen's tone softened as she continued, "If you're still not feeling great in the next few days, you gotta follow the doc's advice, alright?"

This time, Leonel decided not to argue with Noreen.

He was supposed to get an IV drip, but he was worried Alexis might not find him afterward, so he chose to wait for her. Knowing Leonel well, Noreen sat by his side patiently.

Every now and then, Leonel would cough.

Noreen handed him a cup of water along with some pills. "Take these for now. They'll help."

Leonel nodded and took the pills.

Seeing this, Noreen felt relieved and started talking about business in a quiet voice. To Leonel, Noreen was someone he trusted a lot, seeing her as professional and reliable.

Meanwhile, the elegant Public Relations manager had been waiting for quite some time in the wings while Leonel remained holed up in the VIP lounge.

So naturally, she was getting anxious.

Appearing publicly for the first time since taking office, she felt the luncheon carried significant weight. Demonstrating her capabilities, especially to Leonel, was her foremost concern.

Stepping in gracefully, she suggested, “Mr. Douglas, maybe you should get that intravenous drip done first? We don't want you to be late for the luncheon. And we can catch up with Miss Fowler later, right?"

After her suggestion, she patiently awaited Leonel's response.

She believed Leonel would know what to do. Being ambitious, he should be able to prioritize between his ex-wife and his career.

To her surprise, Leonel was still casually sipping his water.
