Chapter: 4287
Leonel helped Alexis rearrange the shawl on her shoulder and added, "Carry the baby inside. I'll get the stuff."

Alexis nodded and went in. By now, Rena was already coming out to welcome them.

She hadn't seen Alexis since she was discharged from the hospital, so she missed her so much.

She took a close look at the baby and then at Alexis. Then she breathed a sigh of relief.

Both mother and child were fine.

Leonel addressed Rena 'mom' as he used to, and opened the trunk to bring out the gifts. In fact, he acted as if he was still part of the family, and had only just brought his wife and children home to visit as he always did in the past.

Rena's feelings, on the other hand, were quite mixed.

Nevertheless, she helped Leonel carry some of the things. "Thank you, mom," Leonel said gratefully with a smile.

Rena didn't say anything. In fact, her mood became even more complicated.

Waylen was in the easternmost bedroom on the second floor.

Though he'd made significant progress in his recovery, he still had a little trouble moving about. Overall, he was still recuperating.

Evelyn and Daniel were seated at his bedside talking to him, which helped to relieve his boredom.

When Alexis came in, she showed the newborn to him. "Cordelia gained three pounds in the past month. She also sleeps through the night most of the time," she said with a proud smile, her tone as gentle as that of a typical happy mother.

Waylen felt relieved to hear this news.

At this point, Leonel had also come upstairs.

He entered the room and put down two cartons of cigarettes on the bedside table. Then he said to Waylen, "I didn't tell mom."

Waylen cleared his throat and shook his head. "You're tempting me to smoke, huh?" he chuckled. “If Rena finds out, she'll nag me for months."

Still, he looked at the cigarettes longingly for quite a while. He was someone who loved smoking.

Meanwhile, Leonel took a seat on the sofa and began to talk with him about Exceed Group.

There was this big project, and it was necessary for them to discuss it.
