Chapter: 4360
She cast her eyes downward and chuckled softly. "If I find someone, I'll be sure to inform you."

Leonel tenderly caressed his left leg and murmured, "I'll offer my blessings when that time comes.”

Their exchange felt rather dull.

Still, Edwin listened attentively, to the point where he lost the game of chess. Brushing it off as just an off day, he insisted on another round and requested a rematch. Marcus gathered the pieces and scoffed. "Even if we played ten more rounds, you'd still lose! What's the point of being stubborn?"

At that moment, Edwin suddenly turned to Leonel with a smile and remarked, "Leonel, Marcus was referring to me just now. He certainly wasn't talking about you."

Leonel frowned, feeling a sense of helplessness wash over him.

He could tell that the two men were mocking him.

Fortunately, Waylen descended the stairs at that moment, accompanied by the servants who were prepared to serve dinner.

The atmosphere during dinner was somewhat awkward, with everyone lost in their own thoughts.

After dinner, as Leonel prepared to leave, Evelyn couldn't resist running over to him and handing him a pink hot water bottle. “Use this, Daddy," she said earnestly. "It'll help with your leg pain."

Leonel accepted it, his eyes brimming with emotion.

Wanting to avoid disappointing his child, he replied, "Alright, thank you."

Evelyn couldn't resist giving him a hug, and Leonel held her close, though his gaze drifted towards Alexis on the balcony upstairs.

Alexis appeared unusually calm.

He thought to himself that she had likely adapted and come to terms with the reality of his relationship with his girlfriend.

Soon, she would entertain a new relationship and start a completely different chapter of her life.

Contemplating this stirred a twinge of bitterness within him, yet he felt powerless to alter the course of events. Leonel offered Alexis a faint smile before awkwardly slipping into the car through the rear door.

The driver was on the verge of asking about the destination when he noticed Leonel reclining in his seat, tears shimmering in the corners of his eyes.

The driver was taken aback, but then moved. He had no idea of the immense courage it took for Leonel to make the decision to let Alexis go.

The air inside the car felt heavy and sad. The driver couldn't remember the last time he'd seen Leonel so down.
