Chapter: 4383
Noticing the servant's discomfort, Alexis offered a faint smile, deducing that Leonel had fled to avoid her.
After settling the children, she entrusted Cordelia to the nanny.
Then she called Noreen to find out Leonel's current location. Noreen, still hoping for a reconciliation, subtly hinted at where he might be.
Alexis caught on immediately.
With a light smile, she texted Leonel. "Get ready. I'll be picking you up later!"
When Alexis pulled up at Leonel's place, it was already evening.
The sky was overcast, with a light drizzle making everything damp and a little hazy. It gave the villa a dreamy feel.
The place was massive. To her surprise, the doorman knew who she was and swung the gate open without hesitation. He even gave her a discreet thumbs-up, suggesting he'd been around for a while.
Alexis smiled and nodded at him as she drove past a fountain and parked her car.
It had been raining all day.
It wasn't the best weather for social calls or to butter someone up, but Alexis was there to pick up Leonel anyway.
She knew he wouldn't be too happy about it, but she needed to show she still cared.
As soon as she stepped out of her car, rain soaked her because she didn't bring her umbrella. A servant hurried over with one and said, “Mrs. Douglas, maybe you should just go!"
Looking toward the villa, the servant added in a low voice, "Miss Molina is here."
Miss Molina...
Hearing the servant mention her, Alexis wasn't surprised. She was a bit annoyed though. Back in the day, she'd just leave. But now, even with other women like Hester around, she wasn't about to let them get in her way.
She gave a slight smile and asked, "Where's Leonel?"
The servant, seeing that Alexis wasn't backing down, led her into the villa. On the way, she whispered, "Mr. Douglas is in the study! His leg would get particular painful in the rainy days.”
Alexis gave a faint smile. As they entered the hall, she saw Hester standing there.
Hester stood in the hallway like she owned the place, sizing up Alexis with a look that said, "Who let you in?"
