Chapter: 4393
Alexis didn't object. Instead, she leaned against the bed's headrest and perused the law firm's documents.
Unable to resist, Leonel inquired, “Do you really need to go through all that tonight? Why are you so busy?"
Without lifting her gaze, Alexis replied softly, "I'm indeed swamped. Between managing the law firm and Exceed Group, along with looking after three children, life isn't as easy for me as it is for you and Hester."
Leonel was left speechless.
After a moment, he croaked, "If you're ever too swamped, you can send the kids over to my place."
Alexis grinned. “Wouldn't that bother you and your girlfriend?"
She always had a sarcastic tone whenever Hester was mentioned. Leonel couldn't bear it any longer and murmured, “Alexis, you don't have to keep testing me like this!"
Alexis looked up at him.
Her eyes were so profound that even Leonel couldn't fathom her thoughts.
Setting aside the documents, she gently offered, “Let me assist you in getting some rest on the bed."
Leonel was a proud man; he didn't want to be assisted by Alexis Like he was disabled. He quickly and anxiously replied, “It's not necessary."
However, he rose too swiftly and nearly stumbled.
Alexis persisted, saying, "Let me assist you. Leonel, since when did you become so touchy?"
This time, Leonel didn't decline.
There was no light in the small lounge, casting it into darkness. As they entered, both felt a slight unease. Alexis appeared to step on something, causing her to stumble along with Leonel.
When they came to their senses, they found themselves lying in bed, with her on top of him.
Their bodies pressed tightly against each other, and even the slightest shift caused an unbearable sensation. Alexis' face was inches from his, and she sensed the warmth of his skin.
Being a mature woman, she understood the implications of his response.
With her lips brushing against his neck, Alexis uttered in a hoarse tone, "Didn't you introduce me as your sister to others? What's going on now? Leonel, are you behaving Like an animal?"
Leonel's breathing grew uneven.
