Chapter: 4401
Alexis turned to look at him, her expression calm as she met his eyes.
Separated by the glass, Leonel could see the blood dripping from her arm.
Alexis looked numb. Her face was pale, and she trembled as she pulled a pack of cigarettes from the console. She lit one and filled the car with smoke before turning to Leonel.
As she rolled down the window, her voice was cold. "Open the gate."
It was a rainy night, and Leonel looked very stern. He bent down and noticed the alarming bloodstains on Alexis' arm. He had always thought of Alexis as a rational person, but now, he felt she had changed.
He refused to let her leave, reached in roughly, and forced the car door open.
“What are you doing? Didn't you say we were even? How is any of this your concern?"
Leonel pulled her out of the car. Seeing the blood on her delicate arm, he loosened his grip. Rain streamed down his face, his eyes burning with intensity.
He swallowed hard, fighting back his emotions. "Stop being stubborn! Do you want to die?"
Alexis looked up at him, her expression unreadable.
In the dark, her cheeks shone with tears, her lips quivering. After a pause, she spoke softly, "Don't worry, I won't make any rash decisions because of you. I'll live my life.”
"Bullshit !"
He grabbed her with one hand, the other searching the car until he found a bottle of antihemorrhagic agent. He pushed two tablets against her Lips. Alexis coughed as he forced them in. “Are you out of your mind, Leonel?"
Noticing the blood on her arm, he carefully held it, his voice full of desperation, "Damn right! I'm losing my mind!"
On that rainy night, all other sounds seemed to disappear.
Alexis gripped his hand, her body shaking slightly. "Why did you push me away?"
Leonel had no answer.
He felt lost, unsure of what he truly wanted, or even if he had the right to want anything.
He forcefully led Alexis back to the house. After their heated argument, he no longer cared about maintaining any pride. He didn't mind limping in front of her.
With some effort, they made it to the second floor.
