Chapter: 4428
But Raphael didn't say anything in response.
He was really not in a good mood. He had thought that when he told Olivia that he and Sharon would soon be engaged, she would break down and lose control of her emotions. In fact, he had seen that she was almost about to burst into tears. How come she was now smiling so happily as if nothing had happened? Did she not have a heart?
With this thought in his mind, Raphael slowly went down the stairs.
A black vehicle was parked right outside. Raphael promptly got into the back seat. The driver thought Raphael was going to smoke a cigarette, so he lowered the window.
But Raphael ordered him to close it.
The driver obeyed immediately.
Raphael then leaned back on the seat and fell to thinking. He was in the prime of his life, not to mention the fact that he was very handsome, which made him popular among women. In the business circles, many females were constantly pursuing him, but he had never really paid attention to any one of them. Frankly, he still had feelings for Olivia.
Yet, it had been almost eight years!
Not just any eight years but the best time of his life.
In the last eight years, his hatred for the Evans had fueled him all the way to his current position, and now, he was finally capable of contending with the Evans family.
There had been nothing to stop him from trying every means to destroy the Evans family, but so far, he had not made any such move.
The reason for his hesitation was because he still cared a lot about Olivia.
He closed his eyes and sat in silence.
After what seemed like an eternity, he put his hand in his pocket and brought out his wallet.
As always, when he opened it, the first thing he saw was a photo under the transparent layer. It was a picture of Olivia when she was twenty years old.
She was wearing a light pink dress and standing under the tree with an innocent smile on her face.
Raphael looked at the picture for quite a while. Then he touched the lovely face on the photo with his fingers. How innocent and lovely Olivia was back then!
Perhaps if Olivia hadn't broken up with him at that time, his life would have been different, and he wouldn't have ended up being an emotionless workaholic. Right now, there was nothing else in his life apart from his business.
The only light in his life went out when Olivia left him.
At this point, the door was suddenly pulled open and Sharon said in a soft tone, "I'm ready, Mr. Jones."
