Chapter: 4437
Alexis slowly turned around and calmly scanned the faces of the people that were gathered there. "It seems Evelyn has been having quite a lot of ‘attention’ at school, huh?" she said with a chuckle.
“As her parent, I never noticed that until now. I guess I have been quite negligent."
But no one dared to say anything in response.
They all knew the power and influence of the Fowler family. The Fowler family assets combined with Leonel's assets could shake the entire city of Duefron. But nonetheless, they were all very curious to know whose child had bullied Leonel's daughter and referred to her father as a cripple.
Everyone could agree on the fact that whoever had done this must have lost their mind.
Meanwhile, when Alexis heard no response, she began to slowly walk around the gym and looked at each face.
Though she was dressed in a simple white T-shirt and looked just like any other regular woman, her gaze made everyone stay silent.
Finally, she broke into a smile and vowed, "This isn't over."
When Leonel looked at her, the expression on her face sent a chill through his spine.
He was very familiar with this expression, but it had been too long since the last time he saw it.
When they were kids, his classmates mocked him after news spread of his mother having jumped from a building.
Back then, Alexis had this same expression on her face as she fought the boy who led the mockery. In the process, she got hurt and bled profusely.
That day, Leonel had carried her and run all the way home.
He was terrified, thinking that Alexis would bleed to death just Like his mother.
As his mind went back to those moments, tears welled up in his eyes.
"Alexis," he called out softly.
His hoarse voice immediately attracted her attention. She turned and saw him looking at her. His calm demeanor instantly soothed her anger.
Her lips trembled slightly when she noticed that Leonel had one arm around Daniel's shoulder while the other hand was stretched toward her.
She stared at him for what seemed like a long time as tears gathered in her eyes.
Still, her face showed signs of stubbornness.
