Chapter: 4438
From the expression on her face, Leonel could see that same young Alexis from their childhood. He couldn't help but smile as a wave of nostalgia hit him.

At this point, Alexis finally took his hand.

As Leonel left the place with his wife and child, he made no effort to hide his limp. His body might no longer be perfect, but his spirit was stronger than that of any other man present.

A black SUV was waiting right outside the school. Leonel held open the door for Alexis and their son to get inside.

But just as he was about to close the door, the principal, Jaxton Diaz, and the director of the school administration, Vernon Palmer, came over to meet him. They'd just heard about what happened and were very worried. They had come to apologize to Leonel, hoping that they could earn his forgiveness. After all, he was one of their biggest donors, giving a significant amount of money to the school every year.

“Mr. Douglas, we're really sorry about what happened today."

"You know, Mr. Douglas, kids can be thoughtless. We sincerely apologize on their behalf and we hope you'll find it in your heart to forgive us and not take this matter any further."

Leonel quietly closed the car door before turning to look at them.

Then he pulled out a cigarette from his pocket and lit it. After taking a deep drag, he said, "I can deal with being called names. But gentlemen, I don't donate such a large amount of money to your school every year for my children to be bullied. Do you know Evelyn cried when she was bullied? What action did you take at the time? You asked her not to tell her parents what happened?"

The two of them couldn't help but sigh bitterly. Clearly, they had screwed up big time.

This was a very expensive private school. Every kid here came from a distinguished family, but none of them had parents that could compare to Leonel in any way.

They deeply regretted not taking action earlier on the matter, but no amount of regret could change what had happened.

Jaxton in particular was very worried about the possible implication of Leonel's statement. “Mr. Douglas, what do you suggest we do now? We can..."

But Leonel quickly cut him off, saying, “I haven't decided yet."

Jaxton and Vernon both seemed nervous. The next thing they wanted to do now was to ask for leniency, but before they could speak, Leonel had gone around to the other side and gotten into the car. The two men exchanged helpless glances and sighed.

Leonel didn't want to go to the Fowlers’ mansion. So he told the driver to drive to their old villa. Alexis and the children came back to stay there sometimes, but Leonel had never been back since he moved out.

Around noon, they finally got to their destination.

Though the domestic staff were somewhat surprised at the sight of their early return, they went on with lunch preparations. Today's dishes were going to be much more lavish than usual.

When the car stopped, they found that Daniel had already fallen asleep. Perhaps he had gotten exhausted after crying.

Alexis wanted to rouse him, but Leonel stopped her. “Let me carry him," he said in a low voice to avoid waking the child.
