Chapter: 4445
Suddenly, Daniel covered his face with his hands, embarrassed by his thoughts.
Leonel gently pulled Daniel's hands away and said, “Go upstairs and tell your mom and little sister to come down for lunch."
Daniel blushed and hurried away. Leonel watched him go, smiling to himself. Nearby, Evelyn was busy cutting vegetables for cooking, especially for Cordelia, who needed more greens for her diet.
The kitchen was bathed in sunlight, creating a warm atmosphere.
As Leonel stirred the pan, he mentioned casually, "If anything bothers you in the future, remember to tell your mom and me, okay?"
Evelyn's nose turned red, and she softly called out ‘dad’.
Leonel patted her head with a clean hand, deciding some discussions were best left for her mother.
Unexpectedly, Alexis hadn't spoken to Evelyn directly about the recent issue. Instead, she had contacted the school and other parents directly.
The method Alexis used was unclear to Leonel, but it led to about 20 students either dropping out or transferring in just one day.
On Monday morning, Leonel's phone was overwhelmed with calls. The principal and parents voiced their complaints, urging Leonel to speak with Alexis.
Although Leonel felt Alexis might have overreacted, he publicly supported her, politely declining to intervene as requested by the parents.
Yet, the issue persisted.
After finishing the last call, Leonel dialed Alexis‘ number. She answered promptly, her voice brimming with cheer. “It's only ten in the morning, Mr. Douglas. Don't you have anything else to do? Is the company going under?"
Leonel chuckled as he lightly scolded her.
He then inquired about the situation with those children from their kids' school, but Alexis responded vaguely that he needn't worry about it.
She mentioned she was heading into a meeting.
Leonel was both amused and slightly irritated when he ended the call, but he knew Alexis had done it on purpose. He actually appreciated her fierce nature.
That Monday morning found Leonel momentarily distracted in his office.
Noreen entered and reminded him of his meeting.
Leonel stood, his figure outlined sharply by the sunlight streaming through the window.
