Chapter: 4452
After a moment of silence, Alexis suggested softly, “Why don't you go take a shower now?"
Leonel lingered, planting kisses on her neck, before excusing himself to the bathroom.
Following his shower, he initially intended to wear trousers to conceal his scarred leg. However, upon reconsideration, he discarded the idea and opted for a bathrobe instead.
Admittedly, the knee-length bathrobe would likely reveal the savage scars on his leg.
Previously, Leonel used to grapple with feelings of inferiority due to his scars, but now he believed he should confront them head-on, embracing them as a part of his identity as a man.
When Leonel walked out of the bathroom, he found Alexis lying on the bed, gazing at Cordelia with tender affection. She radiated a glow like an angel, yet there was also a hint of laziness on her face.
Seated beside Alexis, Leonel gently ran his fingers through her black hair.
He really didn't want to go to bed, rather, he longed to be with Alexis every hour of the day.
As Alexis tenderly caressed the scars on his leg, she did so silently, without speaking a word, her touch a gentle reassurance.
In a hoarse voice, Leonel whispered, "It doesn't hurt anymore."
Alexis asked softly, “Will it act up on rainy days? I'll be here to massage it and ease your discomfort if it does."
With a faint smile, Leonel teased, "Since when did Miss Fowler turn so sweet?"
Alexis planted a gentle kiss on his cheek and said, "You'll have plenty more surprises ahead. Life's like a journey, isn't it? Besides our love, we've got the kids to raise and responsibilities to those we care about."
After planting a kiss on his cheek, Alexis moved to get out of bed.
However, Leonel gently pinched her chin, pulling her back into a lingering kiss that lasted for quite some time.
He held onto her tightly until he himself was burning with lust.
“Time for bed! I'm off on a business trip tomorrow. You know, I have to contribute to the family," Alexis said resignedly.
Since it was a legal aid case, she didn't charge any fees for her services.
She was expected to remain in Tashkao for three days.
The following morning, Alexis rose early, knowing she had to dash to the airport after breakfast. Yet, upon entering the cloakroom, she discovered her luggage neatly packed, containing all the essentials for the upcoming three-day trip.
