Chapter: 4453
Gazing at the luggage, tears welled up in her eyes.
Despite their intimacy the previous night, part of her remained uncertain if it was real or just a dream. However, now she was sure that Leonel really was back in her life.
Meanwhile, Leonel had approached and leaned against the doorway.
He looked incredibly alluring in his light gray turtle-neck sweater.
Holding a glass of milk, he inquired gently, "Take a look and see if you need anything else. If not, I'll take you to the airport later."
Securing her suitcase, Alexis wrapped her arms around his neck and praised, “You're so considerate, Mr. Douglas!"
Leonel frowned, teasingly objecting, "You weren't so formal when we were in the car last night... Do you need me to refresh your memory, Miss Fowler?"
Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment upon hearing his remark.
Playfully nibbling his chin, she retorted, "I'll deal with you when I return from my trip."
After uttering those words, she made her way to the bathroom.
Leonel's gaze lingered on her retreating form as Alexis walked away.
Sunlight streamed through the window, casting a halo-like glow around her. Witnessing this scene, Leonel couldn't resist asking, "When will we be getting the paperwork?"
After a brief pause, Alexis asked, “What paperwork?"
"The marriage certificate!" Leonel exclaimed, his tone tinged with urgency.
“Well, don't you think it's rather nice just living together Like this?"
Leonel was dumbfounded to hear that.
He approached Alexis from behind and gave her a playful pat on the buttock. "You little troublemaker! Come on, when are you going to marry me?"
After finishing brushing her teeth, Alexis dried her face with a towel and met Leonel's gaze in the mirror.
“Is it really that important to you?" she asked.
Leonel nodded affirmatively. With a playful smile, Alexis remarked, “According to the big data, couples who haven't tied the knot often have a more fulfilling emotional journey than those who are officially married. Leonel, maybe we should consider giving it a shot."
