Chapter: 4460
They had to live happily together.
She vowed never to leave them again, and she meant it.
“Alexis, I mean it too. Every year when the maple tree turns red, we'll watch it together."
Leonel then lost consciousness.
"Leonel, consider this your home from now on."
“Leonel, my mother is now your mother too."
“Leonel, please don't go abroad, alright? If you stay, we can be together forever. Doesn't that make you happy?"
“Alright, I won't go anywhere, Alexis.”
When Leonel regained consciousness, he felt dizzy, as if a barrage of thoughts were pounding against his head.
There were all kinds of sounds around his ears.
"Doctor, when do you expect him to regain consciousness?"
"Will his condition have any impact on his cognitive functions? Could he possibly experience memory loss upon waking?"
"Mr. Fowler arrived just in time to help. Otherwise, the outcome could have been uncertain. The situation was exceptionally perilous. Mr. Douglas displayed remarkable bravery. Few men exhibit such devotion to their spouses nowadays."
Leonel rubbed his head and whispered, "Mom, I'm alright. Where's Alexis?"
Rena's face lit up with joy as she hurried over to Leonel's bedside, gently placing one hand on the edge of the bed and reaching out to touch his face. "Leonel, how are you feeling?" she asked eagerly.
Sitting up, Leonel shook his head. "I'm alright. Where's Alexis?"
Olivia responded, "Alexis seems to be in better shape than you. She was coherent when we arrived. But you were in a bad state, covered in wounds and having lost a lot of blood. We were really worried that you were-."
Olivia gestured a throat-cutting motion, and coincidentally, Marcus entered through the door, tapping Olivia's head when he caught wind of her gesture.
“Don't say anything ominous," he chided gently.
Olivia nodded in agreement, her gaze fixed on Leonel, tears streaming down her face. "Leonel, it was so frightening back there. You two almost died there," she recounted, her voice trembling with emotion.
