Chapter: 4459
Time dragged on.

Out of nowhere, a chunk of earth caved in, sealing the exit. Moments later, the ceiling collapsed again, showering debris all around.

The bystanders watched in silence as a man entered to accompany his wife.

Two tear streaks stained Sampson's dark complexion as he removed his helmet and softly uttered, "Clear the area immediately. We won't delay any longer."

The atmosphere was heavy with silence.

Even the rescue dog remained still until it suddenly let out a mournful howl.

Suddenly, a faint sound broke the silence.

Bang! Bang! Bang.

Bang! Bang! Bang.

The rescue dog bolted towards the noise, digging frantically at the ground and barking. Sampson, startled, ordered, "Shift that boulder on the left with all your might. But mind the ceiling; we can't risk more danger to those inside."

Over a dozen experienced rescuers rushed to the scene. It took them over ten minutes to budge the boulder.

As the boulder shifted, astonishment rippled through the crowd.

They then saw the man clutch the woman tightly to his chest, and his legs were drenched in blood, a steady stream flowing downward.

Despite the dire situation, Leonel remained conscious, his voice steady and commanding as he issued instructions, "Please, administer a blood transfusion to my wife without delay. She is Rh-negative, and I am Rh-negative as well."

Leonel and Alexis were stretchered to safety.

The doctor hesitated to draw blood from Leonel, but he insisted, "Take out 500 milliliters... I'll manage. My father's on his way. He's Rh-negative too."

The doctors pointed out blood transfusions between immediate family members were prohibited.

Clutching Alexis tightly, Leonel revealed, “It's fine. He's not my biological father."

After discussion, the doctors opted to prioritize drawing blood to save Alexis.

The blood was drawn swiftly, causing Leonel's legs to spasm as he clenched the bedsheets. His mind went blank, struggling to locate Alexis amid the chaos. Old memories flooded back.
