Chapter: 4604
Gradually, she sank to a crouch, overwhelmed by an intense wave of nausea.
Upon reaching the ground floor, she encountered her secretary.
Startled, the secretary inquired, "Miss Evans, are you alright? Should I take you to the hospital?"
Olivia leaned against the elevator wall, softly shaking her head.
“I'll be okay. I just need some fresh air."
Hastily, the secretary came to her aid.
A gentle breeze brushed against their skin, carrying a faint chill.
Olivia wrapped her arms around herself. She glanced up and noticed a towering building nearby.
At the top was her former home, now devoid of any light.
Olivia observed it silently.
Eventually, she turned to her secretary and inquired, "Do you know which is more enduring, love at first sight or love that evolves with time?"
In truth, she held the answer within her heart.
Her affection for and attachment to Raphael stemmed from a teenage crush, while her emotions for Dylan were those of a woman deeply in love.
Her happiest memories were with Raphael, but her most profound love was reserved for Dylan. But he no longer desired it.
That night, she returned home feeling uneasy, tossing and turning throughout the night.
Later, her secretary called Elva, who spent the evening comforting Olivia and expressing her disdain for Dylan. Perhaps only those closest to her could discern who Olivia truly longed for.
Following that night, Olivia resumed her usual routine.
It was as though nothing had happened.
One week later, it made the headlines that Raphael Jones of Pryor Technology announced his engagement. His fiancee, a beautiful woman, was the same individual he had spoken of to Olivia. The image of them together appeared flawless!
Olivia watched the photograph silently, experiencing a sense of serenity within.
Leaning against the chaise longue, Olivia reflected on her improved health since summer, although her doctor recommended ample rest.
Leyla, now two years old, amused herself with a rubber ball on the lawn, under her nanny's watchful eye.
A smile graced Olivia's lips as she observed her daughter's playfulness.
The phone on the nearby table chimed. It was Dylan calling. She neither answered nor disconnected the call.
