Chapter: 4605
Instead, she allowed it to ring softly. Retrieving the tablet beside her, she resumed working on her comic.
Meanwhile, Dylan was at the company, repeatedly dialing Olivia's number.
Upon learning of Raphael's engagement, he presumed that Olivia had been aware of it for some time but chose not to inform him.
Dylan had been calling Olivia repeatedly, yet she never picked up.
After all, there was no reason for her to do so.
Unlike other divorced couples who might still need to coordinate for their children, Dylan and she... had no such obligations. When Olivia was still pregnant, Dylan was overjoyed and even handcrafted toys for the unborn child. But given that Leyla wasn't his biological daughter, those gestures now just lost their significance.
Moreover, after the divorce, she wanted nothing to do with him.
Still, his persistent calls were becoming a nuisance.
Eventually, Olivia just turned off her phone... Gradually, she found her peace.
After calming down, Olivia looked up to see Leyla running happily towards her.
The little girl was running so fast that she almost tripped herself.
Yet, she didn't seem bothered at all. Leyla's smile brought out dimples in her cheeks. Raphael and Olivia, her real parents, did not share this trait. On the contrary, the little girl somehow bore a resemblance to Dylan when she smiled.
With a burst of energy, the little girl jumped on Olivia, her forehead covered with sweat.
Olivia used a towel to wipe her face.
The nanny approached with the toy ball, smiling as she said, "Miss Evans, I'll take Leyla in for her bath now. Nola's preparing dinner, and it'll be ready by the time she's clean. We've got all of Leyla's favorite dishes tonight!"
Olivia nodded and caressed Leyla's cheek softly.
The little girl affectionately rubbed Olivia's hand with her face.
Having been with Olivia since birth and not yet in school, Leyla had little understanding of what a father figure meant... But being doted on by everyone, Leyla enjoyed each day of her life to the fullest.
Olivia gently patted her head, urging her to go ahead with her bath.
After Leyla left, Olivia lost her interest in her work. She decided to take a walk in the garden instead... However, it wasn't long before she noticed someone at the gate.
A white BMW was parked outside, and Dylan was standing next to it.
He waited silently at the gate, making it unclear how long he'd been there. Surprised, Olivia approached. An iron gate separated them as they looked at each other for a long time. Finally, Olivia asked with detachment, "Why are you here?"
"Raphael is engaged! You knew, didn't you? You never planned to get back with him, right?"
Hearing his words, Olivia felt a sharp sting in her heart.
