Chapter: 4679
Dylan leaned in, planting a kiss on her head before turning to Olivia. "She's a real cutie," he remarked.
Olivia sat up a bit, reaching out to pat Leyla's chubby little bum.
Leyla let out a few stretches, yawned, and then her feet gently kicked against Dylan's belly as she dozed off.
Dylan glanced at Olivia, asking, "Did she fall asleep just like that?"
Olivia nodded, saying, "Kids can zonk out in seconds, you know!"
With careful hands, Olivia carried Leyla to bed, slipping off her shoes and socks and tucking her under the covers.
As Leyla slept, her face flushed a bit rosy, looking so pure and sweet.
Dylan wrapped his arms around Olivia but his eyes were fixed on Leyla.
Everything felt just right, he believed.
In this life, Leyla would likely be their only child.
And strangely, he felt content.
Leyla stirred in his arms, feeling a tad restless.
She turned to him, asking, "How about some food? I'm starving!"
Dylan nodded, smiling.
He gave her a light pat and whispered, “You freshen up first, I'll handle the mess Leyla made."
With a grin, he headed out.
Dealing with kiddo chaos was a norm for families. While some might pass the baton to others, he preferred to dive in himself during his downtime. Leyla's antics brought back memories of Olivia's own childhood.
Dylan stepped out.
Meanwhile, Olivia splashed her face, lost in thought as she stared at her reflection.
Her heart melted a Little.
She figured she might never resist Dylan's kindness.
Dylan whipped up two meals - one for them and a special one for Leyla.
In honor of the special occasion, he even cracked open a bottle of red.
Sipping the tangy wine, Olivia felt it mirrored the bittersweet vibe between her and Dylan.
