Chapter: 4691
Sleep evaded her that night as she replayed Dylan's words in her mind. He had said Gina was very simple and innocent, unlike Olivia.
Thinking of this, Olivia smiled bitterly.
There was a time when Dylan had seen her in the same Light.
And so, she sat at the desk, lost in her thoughts, until the dawn began to break.
Then she went to the bathroom to freshen herself up.
Staring at her reflection in the mirror, she saw a face vastly different from just a few days ago. Her haggard appearance was marked by deep resentment and disappointment.
Olivia splashed cold water on her face before heading into the kitchen to prepare breakfast for Leyla. When Leyla woke up, she noticed Dylan's absence and asked about him in her sweet voice.
Olivia was momentarily paused but then kissed the little girl gently.
“Dylan is off on a business trip, so we need to go back to our place for a few days," she said softly.
Children have a way of moving on quickly. She thought. Although Leyla might feel upset for a while, Olivia hoped she would eventually forget Dylan.
After getting dressed by her nanny, Leyla washed her face and brushed her teeth. The nanny then took her to the dining room for breakfast while Olivia began packing her own things. She didn't take much, just a few essential items, leaving most things behind.
An hour later, Olivia left the apartment with Leyla. This time, unlike before, she felt a sense of resolution.
Her relationship with Dylan had finally come to an end.
On the other side, Dylan rushed to Gina's place.
After getting off the plane, he sat in the car, holding his mobile phone and hesitating whether to call Olivia. Despite everything, the words he had said last night had been too harsh. They shouldn't end things this way.
But when he tried to call, he discovered that Olivia had blocked his number and his WhatsApp account.
Staring at his cell phone, Dylan felt a deep, sudden despair—worse even than when he learned Olivia was pregnant.
After a moment of contemplation, he decided to contact Laura.
There was no way he could rest easy until he knew Olivia was alright.
Laura answered the phone, but she was unaware of what had happened between Olivia and Dylan.
On hearing that Dylan was abroad, Laura responded angrily, “Dylan, if you can't make up your mind, your relationship with Olivia will end sooner or later!"
After a moment of silence, Dylan hung up the phone.
On the other side, Laura was still in a daze when Edwin took her phone away.
Glancing through the call log, he muttered, "A phone call with Dylan, lasting two minutes and fourteen seconds."
