Chapter: 4720
Gazing into Dylan's eyes, she couldn't discern if it was a trick of her mind or reality. She struggled to remember whether it was day or night. The memories of her life with Dylan flooded back to her...
Amidst her excruciating pain, she tightly grabbed Dylan's arm and whispered hoarsely, "Dylan."
Tears filled Dylan's eyes the moment he heard her voice.
Just then, the doctor, visibly agitated, said, "Sir, you need to leave immediately! We can't start the emergency treatment with you here."
Dylan hesitated, his heart yearning to stay by Olivia's side. He feared she would feel frightened and alone without him there, yet the doctor insisted he couldn't remain in the operating room. His clothing, smeared with mud and dirty water, posed a risk to the sterile environment.
Reluctantly, Dylan exited to the corridor to wait.
Edwin was the first to arrive at the hospital.
He was still at the hotel when Olivia departed, and then the tornado struck, making the roads impassable. Concerned for Olivia, he called to check if she had made it home safely.
The servant's reply that she hadn't returned only deepened his worry.
Deciding to leave his mother and Laura at the hotel for safety, Edwin braved the storm and drove back alone... The fierce winds made driving nearly impossible, and at one point, Edwin even contemplated writing a will.
On his way, he stumbled upon the overturned vehicle belonging to the Evans family in a private lane near their villa. The vehicle was empty, but the sight of it overturned sent a shock through him, his heart leaping to his throat.
Pulling himself together in an instant, he quickly made the decision to call Dylan.
Luckily, Olivia was with Dylan in his car.
However, she was in bad shape!
Upon reaching the hospital, Edwin found Dylan pacing anxiously outside the operating room. Edwin could empathize with Dylan's distress. Despite their past conflicts, the immediate concern was the safety of Olivia and her unborn child.
He approached Dylan and placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder, saying, "Thanks for getting them here quickly."
Dylan, removing his soaked shoes and emptying them of water, replied indifferently, “Olivia is my wife, and she's carrying my child."
Edwin almost added something but thought better of it.
Every moment was agonizing for Edwin. He craved a cigarette, but when he pulled out his pack, he discovered they were all ruined by the rain.
Disgusted, he tossed the pack aside and returned to sit by Dylan.
After a moment of silence, he turned to Dylan and offered, "Need to change out of those wet clothes?"
Dylan just shook his head silently.
His appearance was the least of his worries at that time...
As the night deepened, the wind calmed, and the rain ceased as well.
