Chapter: 4719
So he was concerned about her safety!
From a distance, he had seen the accident unfold but was powerless to stop it.
The vehicle had been hit by a large tree.
It then rolled over before the driver managed to stabilize it.
He feared, he truly believed Olivia might be... dead. He literally froze in shock and horror. To his surprise, the door then opened, and Olivia came out of the vehicle. Even though she was in a mess, and her dress was stained by blood.
But she was still alive...
Without a word or time to comfort Olivia or worry about their unborn child, Dylan immediately helped her into his car, and then hurried back to extract Ryder from the driver's seat and move him to his vehicle as well.
The whole process didn't take him long.
He could see that Olivia and Ryder were both in dire condition.
The chill in the car was biting, so Dylan removed his jacket and tossed it onto the back seat before stepping on the gas... After all, neither Ryder nor Olivia could endure much longer.
Driving was difficult, his vision obscured by the downpour.
However, he had no choice but to push it anyway.
His actions weren't aimed at gaining Olivia's forgiveness. Rather, he was driven by the desperate hope to keep her and their unborn child alive... But he recognized that Olivia's decision to exit the vehicle alone meant they might likely lose the child already but she had resolved to face whatever came.
This thought made Dylan emotional, and tears began to well up in his eyes.
He silently hoped that if they could just reach the hospital quickly, there might still be a chance to save their baby...
The rain pounded relentlessly and the wind howled menacingly.
Dylan rushed to the nearest hospital, since Olivia and Ryder were in need of urgent medical attention. As he skidded to a stop at the entrance, a swarm of doctors and nurses hurried toward them with stretchers ready.
In the ensuing turmoil, Olivia was swiftly wheeled into the emergency room.
Remarkably, she remained conscious as the paramedics extracted her from the vehicle, despite the intense agony she was experiencing...
Rather than scream, she clenched her teeth and her usually rosy face turned pale. As she Lay on the operating table, her eyes met Dylan's with a look of silent desperation, making Dylan feel as though he were sitting on a bed of nails.
His concern for Olivia overshadowed his worries about the baby.
Grasping her hand firmly, he rasped, “It's okay to let it out if the pain is too much! Olivia..."
He tried to reassure her that they could try for another child in the future, but the words choked in his throat as he thought of the child they might lose. After all, this was his own flesh and blood!
The pain was so overwhelming that Olivia seemed almost detached from reality.
