Chapter: 4729
As they exited the bathroom, Elissa's voice rang low but firm.

“Raphael, remember your promise. She stays out of the head office forever."

Raphael paused at her words but then continued on without response.

Once alone, Elissa's expression turned to a bitter smile. She knew all too well that men often failed to keep their promises, likely forgetting them as time passed. But why did she still choose to believe him?

Perhaps she was just tired of fighting.

Or maybe she was clinging to that promise as a way to deceive herself.

She had already let go of any real expectations from Raphael, which made her more accepting. Even if rumors of Raphael with other women surfaced, she believed she wouldn't care... She just needed a husband for the sake of her child.

Raphael was correct in one thing- she was far more pragmatic than Olivia.

Unlike Olivia, who came from a loving family, Elissa had always faced tough decisions since she was young.

Over time, this shaped her into the person she was now.

After lingering in the bathroom for some time, Elissa stepped out but didn't head home. Instead, she made her way to Olivia's hospital ward.

Upon arrival, she offered Olivia a heartfelt apology for inadvertently involving her in the complications between herself and Raphael.

Olivia, having no direct stake in their issues, remained quiet, yet she could see that Elissa was visibly distressed. She had also heard some rumors about Raphael through Laura, but she chose not to dwell on them.

Recognizing that nothing she could say would alter Elissa's situation, Olivia stayed relatively silent during their conversation.

After a brief exchange, Olivia gestured for Cecilia to escort Elissa out.

Once Cecilia returned to the ward after seeing Elissa off, the room fell into a momentary silence. Finally, Cecilia remarked with a sigh, "Miss Palmer comes from a respectable family, but her parents are kind of old-school. Now that she's expecting Raphael's child, it's unlikely she'll call off the wedding. It seems she's destined to handle this on her own."

Olivia nodded in agreement, her thoughts tinged with sympathy for Elissa.

Despite Elissa's privileged background, Olivia mused that true happiness might not be solely influenced by one's social standing.

She then reflected on her own struggles in relationships, realizing that hardship was universal, regardless of one's background.

As Olivia was lost in thought, Dylan entered the room.

Having just returned from home where he had showered and changed, he appeared refreshed yet still somewhat worn.

He closed the door gently behind him and addressed Olivia, "Whether or not you decide to forgive me, please let me take care of you while you're in the hospital."

Cecilia, sensing the need for privacy, discreetly excused herself from the room.

After setting the food he brought on the table, Dylan took a seat next to Olivia and asked quietly, "I saw Elissa just now. Was there a quarrel with Raphael?"
