Chapter: 4732
Olivia was speechless for what felt like an eternity.
Laura continued, "That woman was rushed to the hospital! The scene was very chaotic. Because of her, the wedding had to be called off! I can't even imagine how Elissa must be feeling right now."
Seeing Olivia's worried expression, Laura quickly added, "I think the only one who can solve this is Raphael!"
Olivia forced a smile when she heard that.
She didn't say anything, and neither did Dylan. After all, this was none of their business.
After hearing what had happened at Raphael's wedding, everyone fell into a somber silence. They felt a deep sympathy for the couple, but not a word was spoken about it.
At noon, they stumbled upon some shocking news on the Internet.
The young woman might never walk again and would likely spend the rest of her life in a wheelchair. Overwhelmed by grief, her mother had tried to jump from Pryor Technology's building but was thankfully stopped just in time.
When Olivia saw the news, she couldn't help but feel sorry for the young woman.
Around lunchtime, as Dylan was getting ready to leave, he paused and asked softly, “Are you worried about him?"
Olivia paused, momentarily taken aback before understanding what he meant.
Continuing to sip her soup, she replied calmly, "I don't have time for such things, Dylan. Moreover, even if I did, I wouldn't need to inform you. We are not a couple anymore."
Instead of getting upset, Dylan burst out laughing.
Looking at her composed expression, he said with a slight smile, "You are right! We have nothing to do with each other anymore, so you don't owe me any explanations."
His words seemed straightforward, but there was a subtle teasing beneath them.
Olivia found herself at a loss for words.
After Dylan left, Laura, who was sitting across from Olivia, took a sip of her soup and said, "It's unbelievable how humble Dylan seems now."
Olivia lowered her gaze and replied softly, "He has no choice."
Laura nodded solemnly. “You are right. It's time for him to pay the price."
Meanwhile, in the VIP ward of the hospital, Sandra Lee lay in bed, surrounded by the best medical care money could buy. Despite the luxurious setting, the prognosis was grim-she would never walk again.
Her misfortune was compounded by her mother, who, despite coming from a small town, had a knack for playing the innocent victim.
Back at Pryor Technology's head office, a board meeting was hastily convened to deal with the unfolding crisis.
After a thorough discussion, they concluded that Elissa had to step forward and announce that Raphael and Sandra had ended their relationship well before the wedding. In other words, Elissa had to stand by Raphael's side through this.
This strategy seemed the best way to protect the company's reputation and interests.
