Chapter: 4731
“I really want that, Olivia," he reiterated earnestly.
Olivia said nothing in response; she simply turned her head to look out the window.
It had taken her a long time to come to this decision.
It wasn't about forgiveness; Olivia was trying to move forward.
They would interact like exes-nothing more.
During Olivia's hospital stay, Dylan had been a frequent visitor, taking care of her.
Their encounters were regular but marked by a distinct distance.
Dylan pondered whether their recent kiss was merely a spur-of—the-moment action after she narrowly escaped death.
Perhaps Olivia didn't even remember it.
Dylan embraced his role with quiet acceptance. He accompanied Olivia on walks and even to her pregnancy check-ups. Later, he suggested bringing Leyla back to Duefron, to which Olivia raised no objections.
Gradually, Dylan found contentment in this new phase of his Life.
One day, he visited the hospital, bringing a bouquet of lilies rather than roses- out of concern that roses might be too emotionally charged for Olivia.
Olivia merely glanced at the lilies without comment.
As she sat on the bed finishing her work on her comics, Dylan, upon seeing the ending scene, couldn't help but express his disappointment.
"That's a rather bleak ending, isn't it?"
"Yep," Olivia agreed.
Dylan looked at her, hesitating before he added, "But you know, it might be tough to sell the copyright with an ending like that."
Unfazed, Olivia smiled faintly and responded, “If that's the case, I'll publish it myself."
She was aware her story's ending might seem too pragmatic, but it was premature to draw conclusions. Life isn't exactly a fairy tale, and perhaps the readers would appreciate her narrative's authenticity.
Regardless, she was prepared to invest her own funds to see it published.
Dylan chose not to press the issue further.
Just then, Laura arrived, having just picked up the children from school. She entered the room, paused as she noticed Olivia and Dylan together, and seemed to reconsider her words. Olivia noticed her hesitation and prompted, “What's wrong?" After a moment, Laura disclosed, "Actually, today was Raphael and Elissa's wedding. But it ended in chaos. His assistant caused a scene at the venue and jumped from the fourth floor. She survived, but her leg was broken."
Olivia was taken aback by the news.
She had never imagined Raphael and Elissa's wedding would unfold in such dramatic fashion.
