Chapter: 4769
Soon, they arrived at their new home, a cozy apartment.
Of course, it couldn't compare to the grand villa.
But it was much better than Elissa had anticipated. The kitchen, the furniture, and the overall condition of the place were all new and inviting. After entering the bedroom, Elissa began hanging their clothes in the closet one by one.
While she organized the clothes, Raphael diligently wiped every corner of the apartment with disinfectant, ensuring it was spotless.
After that, Raphael wanted to cook something for Elissa, but the fridge was empty.
When he was about to head out to the nearest supermarket, Elissa stopped him. Taking out her purse, she said, "I saw a grocery store across the street. Why don't we just go there and buy something for dinner?"
Raphael worried that she could get tired from the trip, but Elissa insisted on going with him.
In the end, they went to the grocery store together.
Green plants lined the sides of the road.
They walked side by side. After a while, Raphael gently held Elissa's waist, letting her lean on him.
He felt a deep sense of remorse for her.
With a faint smile, Elissa turned to him and said, "Don't worry. I'm fine! It's normal for a couple to support each other. If other people can live like this, so can I!"
Hearing that, Raphael fell silent.
Together, they got vegetables, meat, and milk. Although their finances were tighter than before, Raphael was determined to care for Elissa, especially during her pregnancy... Beyond the daily essentials, they also meandered through the aisles looking for suitable beddings. Eventually, Elissa found something in the Linen section.
Raphael glanced at the beddings and remarked, “Don't you think the pattern is a bit too cheesy?"
But Elissa responded cheerfully, “Are you kidding? I think they're adorable!"
She then gazed at him, seeking for approval.
Under her gaze, Raphael's heart skipped a beat. He leaned down, kissed her cheek, and said gently, “Alright, we'll take it; as long as it makes you happy!"
Elissa replied in a soft voice, "I'd like to buy a few more things! But I promise I won't waste money on useless stuff."
With a faint smile, Raphael draped his arm around her shoulder and playfully said, “Silly girl!"
After two hours of shopping, they went home together.
Raphael opened the door for Elissa and placed the shopping bags on the table. As he unpacked the groceries, he said, “You go and rest. I'll call you when lunch is ready. I have to go out for some business this afternoon. You can take a walk in the neighborhood or maybe just stay in and read a book. I'll meet you for dinner."
After changing her shoes, Elissa said, "Let me make lunch for you."
By then, Raphael had already walked into the kitchen with the ingredients.
