Chapter: 4810
Looking at Raphael, Mark noticed a change in him, a softer, more matured vibe...
He genuinely felt happy for Raphael!
Soon, Gil Hampton, the hospital director, rushed downstairs with their best anesthesiologist close behind.
After getting directions, the anesthesiologist headed into the operation room.
Gil greeted Mark warmly. "If I'd known she was your friend, I'd have sorted it out earlier!"
He also gave Raphael a polite nod.
Raphael then expressed his thanks.
Gil remained with them until the operation concluded. Meanwhile, Mark sat silently on the bench the entire time.
He didn't speak and neither did Gil.
After waiting for a long time, Cecilia took Brantley to get something to eat.
When they returned, the atmosphere had grown tense.
During the surgery, Elissa had lost a significant amount of blood and the hemostatic forceps weren't effective.
Moreover, the hospital was running low of her blood type.
Everyone started to worry about Elissa.
Gil did his best to find the right blood supply but it was difficult to obtain it on short notice.
Mark put on his reading glasses and made another call.
After a moment, the call was answered. He spoke urgently, "I need some type 0 blood! Send someone to deliver it to me immediately. I'll send you the address. It's very urgent... Make sure it arrives safely!"
After saying that, Mark ended the call.
Gil had experience in the obstetrics department, as did his family.
Hearing Mark's conversation, he understood Mark was speaking to someone influential to get the emergency supply to which ordinary people had absolutely no access.
He gave Raphael a reassuring pat on the shoulder, saying, “Don't fret. With Mark around, your wife is in good hands."
Mark glanced at him and remarked, "Get on with your work!"
Gil nodded and entered the operating room. Being an expert in obstetrics and gynecology, other doctors deferred to him. He had to stabilize Elissa's condition and stop the bleeding before the backup blood arrived.
Outside the operating room, Mark stood up.
