Chapter: 4818
Tears welled up in Raphael's eyes.

"My uncle says boys aren't supposed to cry," Leyla said, wiping his tears.

He embraced her tightly.

He kissed the little girl and accepted Olivia's gesture. He resolved to work harder and amass a greater future dowry for their daughter.

In the evening, Olivia showed up to pick up Leyla.

She stayed outside the ward. She felt awkward popping into Elissa's life...

It just seemed unnecessary to stir things up and upset her like this.

Raphael stepped out of the ward, holding Leyla, and spotted Olivia by the window at the corridor's end.

Peering out, he noticed snow falling outside.

Handing Leyla to Olivia, Raphael said kindly, "Let me give you a ride! Driving in the snow isn't easy."

Olivia took Leyla and replied casually, "No, thanks, I'll manage. I have a driver so there's no worries."

Hearing this, Raphael nodded.

He playfully pinched Leyla's cheek before looking up at Olivia.

“Elissa and Brantley both adore her. So, I'm thinking Leyla could hang out with us for a bit after Elissa's discharged. Is that okay with you?"

To his surprise, Olivia agreed right away.

Leyla, thrilled, leaned over and planted a kiss on Raphael's cheek.

When Leyla turned to kiss him, Olivia still held her close and had to leaned in a little bit. There was still a flicker of something between them but things were different now and so were their feelings.

They had been too young and reckless when they were first together.

Before leaving, Raphael thanked Olivia sincerely. "Thanks for everything, Olivia."

Olivia just smiled faintly, without saying a word.

Then she walked off with Leyla. Her shrinking silhouette stretched long in the corridor's light...

Leyla's existence was a reminder for Raphael of the love and animosity he and Olivia had once shared.

Reflecting on this, Raphael felt thankful that Leyla had been born.

What a precious little thing she was!
