Chapter: 4819
Back in the ward, Raphael was somewhat distracted but Elissa didn't comment .
Late at night, after Brantley and the baby had dozed off, Elissa murmured, “Do you miss her?"
Raphael was taken aback by this question out of the blue.
Standing by the French window, he turned to face Elissa. She added with a gentle smile, "It's normal to still have feelings for someone you deeply loved from your past, especially when you share a child. It's okay to miss her sometimes."
She spoke earnestly while Raphael remained silent.
Approaching her, Raphael embraced Elissa. They shared a quiet moment together. Then, Elissa whispered softly, "I'm not ignoring this, Raphael. I've come to terms with it. I am not going to spend my life resenting anyone. As long as you're a good husband and father... I can't control your thoughts or who you think about. And I don't want to be controlling."
Raphael was touched by Elissa's words.
He rarely expressed his feelings openly to Elissa. And though he couldn't shake Olivia from his mind, Raphael knew he now loved Elissa.
There would always be someone ready to stand by, even at rock bottom.
Raphael muttered, “Don't bring that up again. It's all in the past!"
Then he leaned in to kiss Elissa.
Bathed in warm light, he held her close, kissing her gently and lovingly...
It had been a while since they shared such intimacy. With Elissa's hospitalization, physical closeness became rare. So, the kiss sparked something between them, drawing them closer.
After a full day of running around the hospital, Leyla was exhausted.
She soon dozed off in the car.
Olivia wrapped her in a blanket as she was worried that the girl might catch a cold. Arriving at Evans Gardon, she instructed the driver to park by the main house. Glancing at Leyla in the rearview mirror, the driver grinned.
"What a cutie! Out like a Light."
Olivia smiled in agreement.
As the driver moved to lift Leyla from the car, someone suddenly pounced on him, Startled at first, he exclaimed, "Mr. Wright, weren't you supposed to be on a business trip to Duefron? What are you doing here?"
Thanks to Eason, Dylan had been granted access to the Evans’ place.
Mark and Cecilia had actually been nicer to him now, but Edwin had remained distant.
Yet secretly, the driver admired Dylan's handsomeness.
Despite the chilly weather and his thin shirt, Dylan's physique impressed him. He exuded charm, even when wearing such simple attire.
The driver grinned innocently as Dylan opened the door.
