Chapter: 4842
After all, Olivia had chosen him in the end, over all the other men.
As Leyla was getting ready to leave, Elissa emerged from the house.
Despite not being fully recovered, she came to bid Leyla farewell, handing her a small toy. When she crouched down, Leyla planted a kiss on her cheek.
Elissa grinned.
Her eyes welled up with tears.
After the trio departed, Raphael shrugged off his coat and draped it over Elissa's shoulders. "Why did you come out? It's windy. What if you catch a cold?" he griped.
Elissa leaned into him and the pair strolled back inside the house together.
She murmured, “Raphael, I don't want another baby."
Raphael glanced at her sideways.
He was taken aback. Considering her fondness for children, he had presumed she'd be keen on having at least another child.
But Elissa shook her head.
She didn't confide in her husband that it wasn't the idea of another baby she opposed, but the fear of having a daughter.
Everything seemed perfect at it was now.
Raphael now had a son and a daughter.
Another child could disrupt the equilibrium. Since he loved Olivia, Elissa reasoned, he could devote more attention to Leyla.
This was her way of showing love.
Elissa was willing to compromise on this issue.
Gazing at the sunset, Elissa still felt a pang of regret.
Yet, she preferred a simple, tranquil life. The whirlwind romance between Raphael and Olivia in their youth wasn't her aspiration.
As long as her husband loved her now, that was all that mattered.
Besides, she adored Leyla.
From the room came the sound of a baby crying. It was their son, Jarvis.
Raphael would rise twice during the night to tend to their son, soothing him gently in his arms, so she could have her rest. He was a loving husband and devoted father.
For this reason, Elissa was willing to make concessions.
