Chapter: 4859
Dylan walked past the kids, and then turned to remind them, “Head back inside. It's chilly out here. Make sure you don't fall into the water!"
Myrna watched his retreating back for a long time before turning to Leyla and saying, “He's really fit."
She added, “My dad only works out twice a week. He constantly asks my mom if he looks good and whether he should exercise more."
Leyla was too young to understand all that.
She was just a little girl enchanted by candies.
Scott led them back to the villa. Both the Evans and the Fowler families were gathered for the housewarming. Waylen was deep in conversation with Mark, as were their wives.
Leonel, Marcus, Edwin, and their wives were there too. Even Albert and Jessie had made it. However, their son Bernard was unwell, so he and his sister Jeslyn both stayed home.
The house was buzzing with activity.
Only Elva remained single. She wasn't rushing into a relationship, but her family, especially Waylen, was concerned.
“You're an actress, sure, but you can't be that busy all the time, can you? It's been ages since I last saw you. And still no boyfriend!"
Cecilia chimed in with a smile. “Rena knows a lot of people. Maybe she can introduce Elva to someone."
Waylen looked at Mark and continued, “Cecilia has a point. But Elva turns down everyone. Over the last two years, Elva has rejected many suitors. She's not getting any younger. Sometimes I wonder if she might be gay."
Mark, who was very open-minded, replied, “Even if she is, she's still your daughter."
Waylen was anxious. But he pretended to be calm. “Haha! If she ever brings home a girlfriend, Rena and I will still be happy. At least she's seeing someone!"
Mark could tell Waylen didn't fully mean that.
After a moment's thought, Cecilia added, "I once saw her on a date with a man from the Mendez family last year. They seemed close. I remember his name is Luis. He appears to hold a significant position in his family."
Waylen was familiar with Luis.
In recent years, the Mendez family had flourished. As the eldest grandson, Luis held considerable influence inside the family. If Elva was indeed seeing him but hadn't told her parents, something was definitely off.
Waylen then called her over to inquire about it, but she quickly diverted the conversation.
From her evasive response, the elders sensed that Luis might not be fully committed to the relationship.
