Chapter: 4858
Dylan felt conflicted. On one hand, he admired her resilience and how independent she looked at that moment. On the other hand, he blamed himself for not living up to his promises and felt perhaps he was being too self-indulgent.
It was clear that Olivia had grown more mature and understanding than him.
After her shower, she emerged in a bathrobe and gazed out the window, her voice low, "We're not in our twenties anymore, Dylan! You're a few years older than me, right? Now that we've decided to give this another try, let's not dwell on the past. There's no need for guilt. More importantly, I don't want you to be with me because you feel like you owe me."
She paused, and then added with a faint smile, “That wouldn't be fair to me, would it?"
Hearing this, Dylan, curious and eager to make amends, asked, "Then what can I do for you? Tell me what you need, Olivia. I'll give you anything and everything I have.”
Olivia whispered, "Just act normal! I don't want any compensation. If broken love could always be fixed, there wouldn't be so many broken hearts."
Dylan observed her in silence.
He really wanted to ask her if they were still young, would she forgive him... like she once did for Raphael.
However, Dylan refrained from asking, as the answer seemed obvious.
She was with him because she wasn't that fearless girl who would fall in love without hesitation anymore.
He felt slightly let down, yet her explanation made sense.
Indeed, he couldn't undo what he'd done.
Over the weekend, the Evans family settled into their new villa, bought by Dylan.
The expansive villa spanned three floors. Mark and Cecilia resided on the ground floor, while Dylan, Olivia, and their children occupied the second. The top floor housed a study, a gym, and Olivia's art studio.
The view from the front yard was stunning, complete with a large swimming pool in the back.
Dylan took a swim there that evening.
When he got out of the swimming pool, the kids were watching him. He was in great shape.
Scott folded his arms and asked, "Uncle Dylan, aren't you cold?"
Dylan dried off with a towel and looked towards the villa. “Not really. Do you want to try swimming?"
Scott showed no interest.
