Chapter: 4869
Luis slumped into a casual position, his body language conveying a mix of reluctance and evasion.
Luis shrugged, his tone detached, "We're done. It's over."
Everett's eyes widened in disbelief, his voice laced with shock and disappointment as he asked, “You broke up with her? After all this time? Aren't you living together?"
Luis asked, "How did you know, Dad?"
Everett's expression turned stern, his voice firm. "Your mother kept me informed. She seems excited about it."
The news spread quickly, no surprise in their close-knit circle.
Luis then stunned his father with a sudden revelation. "I'm in a new relationship! And I want to marry her."
Everett's curiosity was piqued, and he asked, "What's she like? I need to know more about her before you introduce her to your grandfather, you know."
Luis, no fool, decided to embellish Holley's appeal and casually mentioned, “We met at an exclusive club."
Everett raised an eyebrow and asked, "Are we talking about a one-night stand?"
“What exactly is on your mind, Dad? That's where she works!"
Luis tried to break the news gently, but Everett's expression darkened. “You told me you'd dumped Elva Fowler for some clueless waitress?"
Luis replied calmly, "She's an aspiring waitress, Dad. And a lot more. Besides, she wants to open a shop of her own."
Everett paced back and forth, fuming. "And you'll be helping her, I presume? Can you be any more stupid? I thought you were a smart boy, but it seems you're blind to her manipulation. You two are like oil and water. How can you possibly make a life together? I'm not looking down on waitresses or whatever. ALL I'm saying is that you two are from different worlds! What do you possibly have in common with her? Can she keep up with your intellect and ambitions? And how will you even raise your children together? Like I said, you're poles apart."
Luis brushed off his trousers, a resolute look on his face. "My mind is made up, Dad."
Everett's finger jabbed accusingly at Luis. “Don't think for a second your mother and I will ever approve of this! She's not welcome at our home as long as you insist on marrying her!"
Hearing Everett's objections, Luis wasn't surprised.
After all, it was unusual for a man of his standing to marry a waitress, especially being Everett's son.
Luis was mature enough to know he wasn't making this decision just to upset his parents or because he was uninterested in other attractive women.
He simply believed that a captivating personality was more important than a pretty face!
