Chapter: 4870
But what Everett said also made sense. He believed that he should be in charge of it when it came to the education of his children... As for Holley, he decided to let her pursue her interests!
Getting up from the sofa, Luis prepared to leave.
But Everett halted him, asking, "Where are you heading? Are you off to have a date with that waitress?"
Noticing the change in Luis’ expression, Everett softened his approach and added, “Luis, it's not that I have anything against this girl, but she hasn't attended college, right? The differences between you two are significant. Don't rush into anything. Otherwise, you might end up regretting it! At first, you might feel thrilled because there was no one like her in your world, but how will you sustain the marriage once the feeling wears off? She might not mind because your looks and status will be enough for her. But what about you, Luis? In ten years... or even less! What will you do when you grow tired of her? You'll be miserable every day because she won't fit in with the other ladies we know. Not to mention, you might lose patience dealing with household matters!"
Taking a moment, Luis composed himself.
Then he replied earnestly, "I appreciate your concern, Dad. I really do love Holley! But I promise I'll give your words some serious thought."
Everett was so frustrated he felt like he could explode!
After Luis left, Everett called his wife to relay the entire conversation.
Joann Mendez was also stunned when she heard what her husband said.
"That's impossible! That Fowler girl is so beautiful. How could Luis break up with her for a plain Jane?"
Everett responded irritably, "I swear, he must be under some spell!"
After leaving his father, Luis returned to his office.
He checked his phone. Normally, by this time, Elva would have messaged him, asking if he'd be back for the night.
Most of the time, he simply ignored the messages. If he intended to spend the night with her however, he would reply.
He realized now that they hadn't spoken for quite a while. Perhaps Elva had sensed their impending breakup, which explained her calm demeanor the other day.
Today, there was no message from Elva.
Holding his phone, Luis pondered for a while before replying, "What kind of jewelry do you Like?"
But he couldn't send the message, because Elva had blocked him on WhatsApp!
Luis' expression darkened. He stared at his phone for a long time, and then tried calling Elva's number. She had blocked his number too!
What a decisive woman!
