Chapter: 4878
Without a moment's delay, Luis grabbed Elva's hand and called out, "Elva!"

Elva swiftly pulled her hand away.

Tears filled her eyes as she gazed at him, her voice calm yet firm, saying, "Luis, remember we're over! You were nearly intimate with your new girlfriend on the couch. Stop pretending like you care how I feel. It's demeaning to us both!"

For the first time, Luis faced a sobering moment of humility.

He quickly apologized to Elva, "I didn't mean for that to happen. You know I'm not that kind of person. I'll make it up to you, whatever it takes."

Elva looked up, her voice softening after a pause, saying, "I need you to stay away from me! Never contact me again!"

He furrowed his brow. “Do you really despise me that much?"

She scoffed, “Do you think we can still be friends after everything? In your dreams perhaps!" With that, she walked away.

Luis remained rooted to the spot for quite some time.

Holley felt aggrieved. What was supposed to be a pleasant afternoon had been spoiled by his ex-girlfriend. She approached him, wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed him, hoping to ignite some passion.

But he was not interested in it.

He gently pushed her away and suggested indifferently, “Why don't you take a shower in the guest room? Change into some fresh clothes, and I'll drive you home."

Holley felt upset. “Luis, this isn't your fault! She showed up without an invitation. And then she splashed water all over me. She's just overbearing and being unpredictable."

She added, "Also, why shouldn't I use the main bedroom to shower?"

After a brief pause, Luis explained, "I used to live here with her. Please use the guest room shower."

Holley was taken aback.

Then it dawned on her why he had kissed her on the sofa and seemed intent on staying there with her... It was because Elva had once lived in this apartment, making the main bedroom off-limits for Holley.

So after Elva left, Holley and Luis also went their separate ways, not on the best of terms.

Clearly, Holley didn't feel bold enough to splash water on him or to slap him.

She simply gave him the cold shoulder.
