Chapter: 4880
Hearing that, he didn't say anything more. He thought his father was right. He was indeed very different from Holley, but on the other hand, he didn't want her to change her way of life for him. That was precisely what intrigued him after all.
Luis pondered deeply during the drive.
He hadn't expected to encounter Elva at such a shabby barbecue place.
Even with her back to the door, he recognized her instantly.
She was dressed simply in a white sweater and black trousers, her long hair styled in soft curls over her shoulders.
A young, tender-looking man sat across from her.
His eyes were full of affection.
Luis took a longer look at the young man, guessing he was no older than 24, and scoffed internally. Was Elva now dating someone significantly younger?
Seeing Elva, Holley clenched her teeth, cursing her misfortune. It seemed Elva was everywhere.
She glanced at Luis and saw his expression darken.
The young man was peeling shrimp for Elva, who appeared quite pleased with the attention.
They exchanged looks filled with warmth.
Luis chose a table next to Elva's, looked at her briefly, and scoffed. "Is this your new boyfriend? Where did you pick him up? Has he even graduated yet?"
Elva finally turned towards him.
Resting her chin in her hands, she looked at him with allure in her eyes and said smoothly, "Mr. Mendez, what a coincidence!"
Luis didn't appreciate being addressed that way, but he wasn't in a position to object. He was curious about her relationship with the young man. “Looks like he doesn't have a career and comes from humble beginnings... Will your parents be okay with that?"
She fluttered her eyes charmingly and replied, “I'm just having a bit of fun with him, exactly what we were doing in the past. Why would I need my parents’ approval for that?"
Luis's expression darkened at her casual tone when she talked about their two-year relationship.
The young man blushed deeply, stammering, “I'll do whatever you ask, Elva!"
He was actually the younger brother of one of her friends.
