Chapter: 4883
She couldn't resist turning to Luis and saying, “We've been together for some time now. I feel like something isn't right between us."
Upon hearing this, Luis gripped the steering wheel with one hand and replied coldly, "Really? I'm listening."
Holley timidly bit her lip and continued in a soft voice, “They say men in their thirties have strong desires for sex. But why don't you seem attracted to me? Do you think I'm not pretty enough?"
Luis, experienced in dealing with such matters, could easily handle a conversation with a young woman like Holley.
After Holley had finished speaking, he unbuckled his seatbelt and leaned closer to her.
Yet, before he could kiss her, Luis hesitated. He gazed deeply into her eyes for a few intense seconds and said in a hoarse voice, “You smell like barbecue. Maybe we should wait for another time."
Holley had closed her eyes in anticipation of the kiss.
When she heard his words, she felt both embarrassed and annoyed, and retorted, "You are such a bad boy, Luis!"
His remark seemed to trigger a memory for Luis...
He stared absentmindedly at the open door.
Holley's remark brought back memories of his first intimate moment with Elva. She had been ill, and he had coaxed her into taking medicine at his apartment, which eventually led to them making love.
Back then, he was on top of Elva.
She had her arms around his neck and had whispered, "You are such a bad boy, Luis!"
Thinking back on those times, Luis felt a pang of sadness.
He had once been deeply in love with Elva and was completely infatuated with her. He wondered if she might be in someone else's arms now, saying the same words.
Was she with someone tonight?
Having had several relationships before Elva, Luis realized he shouldn't be overly possessive. It was common for people to move on and start new relationships after a breakup. If Elva hadn't suddenly appeared in his apartment and interrupted them, he might have had sex with Holley already.
He tried to reassure himself that such feelings were normal among adults freshly after breakups, yet he couldn't help but feel bothered.
Even the idea of Elva with another man would deeply upset him.
While sitting in his car, Luis smoked four or five cigarettes in a row. Eventually, he realized he couldn't offer Elva marriage, so he shouldn't obsess over her or prevent her from finding happiness.
