Chapter: 4882
It was a sleek black SUV, quite impressive.
Holley leaned forward and murmured, “Is that Miss Fowler's car? It looks incredibly expensive!"
Only then did Luis recognize the young man. He was the youngest son of the Finch family, freshly graduated from college. But how did Elva come to know him?
Flicking cigarette ashes, Luis remarked casually, "That guy is the youngest Finch son. For him, a car like that is nothing special."
Holley was clearly shocked by this revelation.
She then appeared envious. After all, they all came from wealthy families, except for her... Would Luis ever be bothered by her humble background?
Reading Holley's expression, Luis understood what she was thinking and responded nonchalantly, “Don't worry about it. My family doesn't need a marriage to strengthen our position."
Holley felt a wave of relief wash over her and gave him a radiant smile.
At the same time, Luis experienced mixed emotions around Holley. He couldn't decide if they were good or not, but one thing was clear... the outcome wasn't what he had anticipated.
Even though having a purely romantic relationship seemed impractical at his age, he still yearned for at least a spark of passion, which seemed absent with Holley.
Each date with Holley felt like he was just completing a duty, not as if he was eager to be with her.
When Luis was first with Elva, he looked forward to seeing her every day, hoping for intimate moments at the apartment every night... Elva was quite the romantic, leading to a lot of wild moments when they were alone.
To this day, he got goosebumps thinking about those times with Elva.
Could it be because Holley was too down-to-earth? Or perhaps her looks didn't stir feelings of passion and desire in him?
Soon enough, Luis came to a realization on his own. He decided it was unfair to compare Holley with Elva.
In the end, he hardly enjoyed the barbecue.
Meanwhile, Holley was quite pleased after indulging in numerous kebabs. She patted her stomach contentedly, albeit concerned about gaining weight, yet she instructed the waiter to box up the remaining food for her late-night snack.
Luis was stunned and said, "Didn't you just have your midnight snack? Aren't you full?"
As they got into the car, Holley cautiously hinted at whether Luis wanted her to stay the night, potentially moving their relationship forward. However, Luis pretended not to understand her suggestion. He had already decided not to have sex with Holley before marriage.
When it was time for her to leave the car, Holley seemed visibly let down.
