Chapter: 4900
Had there been no tears in Elva's eyes when she looked at Luis, Kyler would have fought for her. He would have stood by her side.
Regrettably, he remained an outsider to their deep-rooted connection.
Watching Kyler drive away, Luis sensed that something significant had occurred between Kyler and Elva.
Yet, he couldn't pinpoint the reason.
He stepped out of the car and approached her apartment door once more.
He knocked, and as Elva opened it, she faltered, “Kyler, I-"
Her words trailed off as she caught sight of Luis' intense gaze and instinctively stepped back.
Suddenly, Luis moved forward, enveloping her in a fierce and passionate kiss, overpowering her attempts to resist. He maneuvered her back into the apartment and onto the sofa.
As she sank into the cushions, Luis shrugged off his coat and pulled her close, his eyes searching hers for an answer. “Have you been with him?"
Elva tried to push him away but couldn't.
She retorted defiantly, "Yes! Now let me go! He's much better than you."
His response was to tighten his grip, the intensity in his actions mounting.
Desperate, Elva snapped, "If you're so desperate, why don't you pay someone? Or go back to Holley. I'm sure she wouldn't mind. Just leave me alone!"
Her words were sharp, meant to wound.
Luis paused, the harshness of her words hanging in the air. Ignoring the sting, he asked again, his voice raw, "Have you really been with him?"
Tears welled up in Elva's eyes, betraying the turmoil inside.
Luis halted his foolish words. He rarely witnessed Elva this upset.
In a gentle tone, he said, “Come on, I won't pressure you anymore. Please, don't cry.”
Elva pushed him away and curled herself up, her voice broke as she said, “Congratulations, Luis. You've effectively driven Kyler away! Now, there's no chance for Kyler and me! What are you thinking? You can't just barge into my life on a whim. Unless, of course, you plan to stay forever. Is that your intention? To you, I'm merely a current obsession. Just something you find intriguing. To put it bluntly, I'm like a toy you got bored with and tossed aside, only to find interesting once again later... Isn't it?! You don't want to commit to anyone, but I'm searching for someone who will marry me!"
Elva turned to him and asked, "Tell me, Luis, would you marry me if we got back together? Can you answer that right now?"
