Chapter: 4914
The mere notion was unbearable to him.
Elva accepted the clothes and dressed herself. Her voice drifted from the other side. "We have no relationship now. What I do with other men is none of your concern."
She purposely provoked him further and said, “If you hadn't interrupted last time, I would have been with Kyler."
She voiced her statement, but Luis remained silent for half a day.
Elva emerged from behind the curtain to find the room empty.
Stepping outside, she spotted Luis standing quietly, smoking. His expression was blank, with a hint of anger.
Elva furrowed her brows and offered a faint smile. “It appears I'm tardy."
Even though she didn't ask him to, Elva saw Luis looking at her with a serious expression, which she couldn't understand.
He said, "I've thought about it."
Elva didn't follow.
Luis averted his gaze and continued in a gentle tone, "We were too comfortable when we were together. Your appearance and family background attracted me and so many other men, like seagulls to food. I confess that when we separated, I was still very attached to your physical presence, but emotions waned and passion faded. If you had shown more sides of you to me, perhaps we would have formed a happy couple long ago. Why didn't you reveal your true self to me? I appreciate who you are now."
Elva understood.
She placed her hands on her chest and remarked, "So it seems like I'm the upgraded version of Holley! Do you have a type? Since Holley doesn't meet your family's standards, you shifted your focus to me. Luis, I know how to be a spoiled brat; it's just you haven't allowed me the opportunity at all. Your indifference makes me hesitant, and how could I dare to be willful?"
A woman being wayward is usually because she's pampered by her man.
This seemed to be something he hadn't realized.
Luis and Elva chatted a lot with each other, but then the atmosphere shifted to one of awkwardness.
In such a remote location, there was neither phone signal nor Internet access, leaving them with few activities to occupy their time. As conversation topics dwindled, they exchanged awkward glances.
Elva, feeling unwell, delegated dinner duties to Luis.
Following Elva's instructions, Luis attempted to prepare vegetable soup, though the aroma was captivating, it tasted horribly plain.
Neither of them had prior experience living in the countryside, making it difficult for them to endure this unfamiliar environment.
