Chapter: 4932
Luis retorted, "Dad, you're partly to blame too. If you hadn't carelessly lost the USB drive, I wouldn't have had to rush things like this."

Everett mocked, saying, “Without my mistake, you wouldn't have stood a chance with her. She doesn't really consider you a serious option!"

Then he left with his wife.

Luis also got on his car.

However, after sitting there for a moment, he exited the vehicle, walked to the rear of the villa, and found a blind spot in the security cameras. He then climbed the wall.

As soon as he landed on the other side, he encountered a woman standing with her arms crossed, watching him with great interest.

It was Alexis.

She didn't expect him to do such a thing. She knew Luis as the most dependable member of his family's generation. That such a refined and courteous man would scale a wall was utterly surprising.

Luis felt embarrassed.

He loosened his tie and greeted her, "Hello."

Pointing to the wall, Alexis said, "Mr. Mendez, you're trespassing!"

He steeled himself and admitted, "I need to see Elva."

Alexis knew what had happened between them, but since Elva was not a child anymore, she felt no need to meddle. Elva could manage on her own. Moreover, Elva seemed to have the upper hand, as evidenced by Luis' subdued manner. In matters of love, the person who couldn't let go often found themselves at a disadvantage.

After hearing his words, Alexis curiously inquired, "What is it that you find so appealing about Elva?"

She was a well-known lawyer as well as a loving sister.

Pondering her question, he responded thoughtfully, "I don't know. It's complicated. I can't explain why I love her, I just do."

He was unsure of the perfect response, and therefore he ended up speaking the truth.

Alexis watched him for a moment with her arms crossed, and then just walked away.

Luis asked, “Are you letting me in?"

Alexis' voice came from afar. "I didn't see anything!"
