Chapter: 4940
The light hurt his eyes. Luis shielded them.
A kid tiptoed in and moved his hand away. Luis saw it was a girl, who was about five or six years old who looked a lot like Alexis but more like Leonel upon closer observation.
Luis liked her very much and thought she was adorable.
He turned to his side and pulled her to sit beside him.
Mimicking her father's voice, little Cordelia said, “Daddy said he'll outdrink you again tonight!"
She was proud of her imitation.
Luis couldn't help but laugh.
Despite his headache, he felt cheerful; the atmosphere here was pleasant.
In the Mendez family, he was the eldest grandson and this was a heavy burden to bear. His cousins were all irresponsible and big spenders.
But the Fowler family was different. They stuck together and supported one another.
But there was something about the Fowler family that Luis didn't know.
In the past, they had often been at each other's throats.
To win Alexis back, Leonel had been punched countless times by Marcus and Edwin.
Patting Cordelia's head, he softly asked, "Why did you tell me this?"
She answered, "Auntie Elva wanted me to."
Elva?
Luis was touched, but Cordelia added, "She said she was worried you'd die before she resolved the issue and got your money!"
Luis was at a loss for words.
Cordelia leaned over, examined his face and poked his nose, and finally, with an approving look, said, “You're handsome! I agree that Auntie Elva can marry you!"
Luis was amused by this remark.
