Chapter: 4944
Running?

Elva glanced at her phone. It was just six in the morning.

She groaned and rolled over, thinking to herself that she was in a relationship with Luis, not conspiring against his family. Was such enthusiasm really necessary?

After lingering in bed a little longer, she finally rose and hurried to the balcony.

There in the front yard stood Luis, clad in a crisp white sports outfit, radiating charm.

Was he here to run, or to charm her off her feet?

Suddenly, the idea of marriage didn't seem too bad. At the very least, she could lay claim to the best years of Luis' life. And if he ever strayed or flirted with other women, well, she would make sure to hold on tight and make them both pay dearly!

Elva stood there, contemplating the situation for a few quiet minutes before firmly choosing the comfort of her blankets over the prospect of a morning run.

Running held no appeal to her today.

In the past, if Luis proposed they run together, she would have eagerly prepared days ahead, gathering her workout clothes and waking early to apply makeup, eagerly awaiting his company. But now, she was focused solely on her own needs.

And at this moment, that meant indulging in more sleep.

With a gentle wave of her hand, Elva signaled to Luis, silently communicating her desire to remain at rest. They had spent many years together, and he easily understood her unspoken request.

Undisturbed by her decision, Luis set off on his run alone.

Upon his return, the clock showed seven in the morning. He had completed a full six kilometers, his body glistening with sweat.

Arriving back at the Fowler residence, a calm atmosphere prevailed.

Servants moved quietly, arranging breakfast dishes. Spotting Luis, they approached discreetly and whispered, “Miss Fowler is still asleep, Mr. Mendez. Should we wake her?"

Luis' smile stretched with joy as he said, "I'll go check on her."

Once he left, the two servants exchanged soft whispers.

"Mr. Mendez is quite the handsome man! He and Miss Fowler are just right for each other. Miss Fowler is tall, but he is even taller. They really fit together.”

"Exactly!"
