Chapter: 1623
Ariana purchased a bunch of office supplies and arranged for them to be sent to the Global Building. When Randell got the news, he hurried over to assist with signing off on the delivery and moving the boxes.
Aiming to be efficient, Ariana chose to get all her shopping done in one go. She headed to the furniture store and picked up a hefty amount of office supplies, along with desks, chairs, and various electronic items. She didn't forget to grab a few smaller items, either.
Once she finished her shopping spree, she directed the delivery crew to the Central Building to set up the furniture.
As they made their way through the BRD Group's parking lot, unlike before, Ariana wasn't anxious about bumping into Holden and feeling awkward. She was noticeably more at ease now.
Leaving the BRD Group parking lot required them to walk through the lobby. While passing through, they were suddenly stopped by someone.
"Hey, who gave you permission to move stuff through here?"
Ariana looked back and spotted a man in a suit and tie heading her way. Checking his name tag, she discovered he was the lobby manager.
Despite the man's unfriendly tone, Ariana remained courteous. She explained, "Hello, we're from the Global Building next door. There's a deal in place for us to use and rent your underground parking."
The lobby manager gave Ariana a scornful look. Even though he was aware that the neighboring company had leased the underground space here for six months, his disdain was evident.
Ariana noticed the lobby manager's skepticism and signaled Randell to fetch the lease agreement.
As Randell went to retrieve the document, the lobby manager bluntly stated, “Even with a contract, you'll need the property management's permission. You can start moving items only after 9:30 P.M. to avoid tarnishing our BRD Group's image.”
Ariana felt her temper rise at the manager's condescending attitude but attempted to negotiate. “We weren't aware of this rule. Could you let it slide just this once? I promise to discuss it with property management soon. It's just that I have a lot to move now and can't leave it all here."
However, the lobby manager was unmoved, his expression sour as he declared, “My decision stands. Allowing exceptions would lead to chaos. You can't move your items now. Take them back."
Ariana's brow furrowed in frustration as she tried to reason further, but the lobby manager was adamant. Without the proper permissions, they would have to wait until 9:30 P.M. or face expulsion by security.
Ariana found herself unable to argue back, and the workers were growing restless. Their pay was by the hour, and any delay now would mean they would miss their next delivery.
“We've waited as long as we can, so we're leaving the stuff here. It's up to you to sort it out." The workers placed the tables, chairs, and electronic items in the BRD lobby.
"Hold on. I can pay you extra," Ariana called out, trying to stop them.
One of the workers replied, "This isn't about the money. We can't skip our next delivery. We're running late."
With that, the workers left everything in the lobby and hurried off, leaving Ariana and Randell with the mess.
Seeing the workers couldn't do it, Ariana found herself with no other choice but to hire new ones.
