Chapter: 1681
Opening them, he found Sadie's basic cosmetic surgery information on the first page.
He then turned to the second page.
On it were two photos showing the original face of Sadie, which was the face of the disfigured Helen.
It wasn't until Ariana had left the hospital corridor that she finally exhaled in relief. She felt fortunate not to have been caught, but as her nerves settled, she also felt a twinge of regret. She was so close to the truth.
She pulled out her phone and tapped on the hastily taken photo.
Ariana read it carefully. As she had suspected, Sadie had undergone extensive plastic surgery, not just on her face but on her body as well.
Ariana couldn't help but feel a mix of awe for Sadie's bravery to transform herself so thoroughly.
Ariana then pulled up the information on Helen that she had dug up earlier for comparison.
She had initiated an investigation into Helen when her suspicions about Sadie had first arisen.
But for the last five years, Helen seemed to have vanished from the world. There was no trace of her, just some basic info from five years ago.
Comparing the two profiles, Ariana confirmed they referred to different individuals.
Initially hopeful for a breakthrough, she felt let down by the lack of concrete connections.
Despite her frustration, Ariana continued to examine the details between the two profiles, yet no clear clues emerged.
Feeling a bit down, she pondered if she had made a mistake.
Without any leads to pursue at the moment, she decided to put aside the investigation temporarily.
Just as she exited the hospital, her phone buzzed with a message from Holden.
“Have you finished your work? Where are you?"
Seeing Holden's text and recalling the recent media frenzy, Ariana felt a little guilty. She quickly replied, “Yes, I'm on my way to pick up Melon. Are you at home?"
"Yes, come over," Holden replied, sounding normal, which indicated everything should be alright.
With this in mind, Ariana hailed a taxi to Holden's place.
As she stepped out of the taxi, the door of Holden's place swung open before she could even ring the bell.
Curious, Ariana peered inside. Suddenly, two kids leaped out, growling and waving their hands dramatically. “Waah!"
Ariana burst out laughing at their antics. Playing along, she pretended to be scared and stepped back slightly. Smiling, she exclaimed, "Oh, that's terrifying!"
“Mommy, you're not really scared. You don't look it at all," Melon remarked earnestly, while Adele blinked her large eyes at Ariana.
Crouching down with a grin, Ariana gathered them into her arms and said, “With you two, even a scare turns into a delightful surprise, doesn't it?"
While speaking, Adele gently wrapped her arm around Ariana's neck and rubbed her head against her chest. Then, she whispered softly, “Aria.”
Ariana responded with a gentle touch on Adele's head.
Melon smiled, snuggling into Ariana's arms, and said, "Mr. Fredrick took us to the exhibition and bought a lot of toys and models..."
While Melon narrated their recent adventures, Ariana stroked his hair, and Adele clung to her neck. Ariana then lifted Adele and balanced Melon with her other hand.
She looked around but didn't see anyone else. Not a servant, not even Devin, was in sight.
Confused, Ariana asked Melon, "Where is Holden?"
Melon looked up at her with a serious expression and said, “He's not feeling well. He's resting in his room."
"Is he sick?" Ariana asked, taken aback.
