Chapter: 1735
Shawn's voice came through. "Mr. Fredrick, we discovered that the man who performed her surgeries is an experienced doctor. He seems aware of our investigation into Sadie's plastic surgery history. When we tried to consult at the hospital, he claimed the data was gone and refused to share any details, and..."
Shawn paused, and Holden urged, "Continue."
"He mentioned Miss Edwards," Shawn said slowly. “He advised me to tell her not to waste her time further."
Ariana and Holden exchanged silent glances.
Holden responded, "Got it. You can focus on other matters for now."
"Understood," Shawn replied and ended the call.
Ariana lowered her head, feeling guilty. She said softly, “It seems he found out I snooped in his office that day. It's my fault."
She sighed, her voice filled with regret. “I shouldn't have acted impulsively before."
“It's okay," Holden said, tousling her hair gently. “Without your investigation, we wouldn't have any leads. We have something to work with now. If this approach doesn't work out, we'll try another. Don't worry. We'll find a way."
Upon hearing that, Ariana cheered up and said. “You're right. There's always a solution!"
In the afternoon, Holden left to deal with something.
Alone in the hospital, Ariana felt bored and weighed down by her thoughts.
She pondered if Sadie was Helen. Could Adele truly be Sadie and Holden's daughter? Had Helen slept with Holden five years ago?
However, upon reconsideration, Ariana felt it was unreasonable.
Considering Helen's personality, if she had been with Holden back then, she would have flaunted it to Ariana to make her leave.
But what if Helen wasn't Sadie?
Ariana couldn't figure it out and felt frustrated.
While idly scrolling through her phone, she received a message from Jennifer.
“How are you? Is it really true that you're dead?"
This message brought a glimmer of joy to Ariana's face. She responded, “If I were dead, who'd be texting you right now?"
