Chapter: 1760
Mitchel nodded and replied, "Thank you. If you ever need help when you're in Eleymond, you can find me at the No. 3@2 Laboratory of the Elysian Medical College."
With that, Mitchel walked away.
Marlowe stood still, watching him leave. She mulled over his words again.
Medical College? Was he still a student?
Mitchel looked young, but Marlowe hadn't pegged him as a student.
Wait, something wasn't right.
A realization struck Marlowe. She still didn't know his name. How would she find him?
As she snapped back to reality and thought to ask him, she saw Mitchel had already disappeared into the crowd.
Not wanting the islanders to link her with this man and stir up gossip that might upset her grandfather, Marlowe chose not to follow Mitchel and headed straight home instead.
As soon as Marlowe got home, she noticed her grandfather and Brock searching the yard for her. She quickly entered the yard and called out to them, “Uncle Brock, Grandpa."
Her grandfather visibly relaxed at the sight of her and gently scolded, “Where have you been? Always in a rush."
Marlowe, feeling a bit guilty, explained, “I realized I left my basket on the beach, so I went back to find it, But I didn't find it yet."
Granger sighed and said, “Your uncle already brought it back for you."
Brock set the basket down and grinned. "Here you go. I have to head back now. My little ones are waiting for me."
Marlowe nodded and waved goodbye to Brock with her grandfather. Once Brock was gone, her grandfather couldn't resist voicing his concern.
"You're so careless, always misplacing things. You need to be more careful, or you'll lose more than just items."
Marlowe smiled, took her grandfather's arm, and tried to lighten the mood. "As long as I have you at home, Grandpa, I know everything will be alright."
She then led him inside, attempting to cheer him up. “I made breakfast this morning. Let's eat together."
Granger gave her a resigned smile and agreed, “Okay then."
After they had breakfast, Granger went for a walk, while Marlowe stayed behind to tidy the kitchen. Then, she went upstairs to her room.
